Fusion's going floral

Guess what day it is?!  FFF-Fusion Day.

We have an amazing challenge for you this week:

Here is my take on this week's challenge.

For this card I started with a Kraft base.  I used a Tim Holtz stencil for the background  and used my Gelatos.  I stamped the 3 step Orchid stamp from Hero Arts and used the die cuts to cut them out.  I used a variety of Stampin' Up! inks in green and purple.  The The purple oval is from MFT and the sentiment is from a SU! set.  I distressed the edges for a little extra flair.

I made this for a special friend of mine and can't wait to give it to her.

Thanks for visiting today.  Please head on over to Fusion to see what the DT has in store.

Sunday Stamps

Happy Easter to all who celebrate!  Will you be out searching for eggs and a special little bunny? We will be in this household.

Sunday Stamps is here with this week's inspiration:

What a cute-pie little cake right?  Perfect for spring with all the bright colors... and here is my take on that inspiration.

For this card I used SU! Cardstock and I added some doilies off in the corners.  I used a Simple Stories journal card in the middle.  This tiny little clip board is something that I had bought by mistake thinking it was bigger (whoops) but it is too cute not to use.  I used a Avery Elle Bring On the Cake set.  I stamped the little sentiments on a piece of what looks like notebook paper and made tick marks by them  I stamped cake and cut out around the word so I could glue it on.  I stamped and used the dies for the cupcake and colored it with my Copics.  I love the little rainbow cupcake wrapper.

Thank you for stopping today and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

The Heart Desires Blog Hop

I have some SUPER DUPER exciting news today!

My Friend Ms. Tonya has opened up a new store to sell stamping and papercrafting goodies called The Heart Desires! You will want to check it out because it is gonna be the hottest shop on the block!  I am so excited for her for making her dream a reality!

Tonya has asked me to be part of her Design Team!  So honored to be part of this, I can't even tell you. As you will soon see, there are some FABULOUS ladies on this DT team.  But before we get to that... I wanted to share that to celebrate this grand opening and introduction of the DT, we are having a blog hop with...ahem... prizes (read on for more info)!

I made two cards for today.

First, I used Lawn Fawn's Loveable Legends.  Such a cute set and if you know me at all, right up my alley, I adore mysterious fabled creatures.  Bigfoot is my fave, but I really enjoyed coloring this Kraken and even added little suctions to his arms. :)

For my second card, I used Hello Gorgeous from Hero Arts.  This has great sentiments!  I can't wait to use them all!  In making this, I was going for inner reflection, something ethereal, which is why the shapes decrease as they move inward.

OK, I bet you are ready to win some prizes right?  Here's how...be sure to hit all the stops on the hop and comment for your chance to win one of multiple $10 gift certificates to The Heart Desires store.  You have until 11:59 PST on Sunday, March 27.  Now... here is that fabulous team I was telling you about:

Katie
Amy

Now go get your socks knocked off and get ready to shop in the new store!  Can't wait to see who wins the certificate!

Happy FRIDAY!

Coffee Fixes EVERYTHING!

Hi again!  I am back to share another card with you for the Coffee Lover's Blog Hop.

This card cracks me up!  I just love this little wide-eyed gnome.  Doesn't he look a little zombie-like?!  Perfect for someone who needs coffee to make it all better.  The gnome is part of a larger wood mount stamp from Stampotique (you'll be seeing more of this stamp, don't worry).  I colored him with Copics and paper pieced the shirt. I used the sentiments pieces from different Sweet Stamp Shop sets (I love mixing them up). The DP is from October Afternoon.  I used the circle dies from Lawn Fawn and stars from Freckled Fawn.

That's all for today, making this a quick post.  Thanks for stopping!

TPD Wednesday & Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Hi friends!

I am excited to have you here today for the joining of Two Paper Diva's Wednesday AND the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.

I have not one, but two cards to share with you today, both featuring the TPD Coffee On The Go set.

Card #1- Coffee On the Go coupled with the new TPD set Yes to Sprinkles makes this taste treat.  I used some Echo Park DP, and SU! cardstock for a fun combo of colors.  I accented with some wood chip stars, glossy accents and sprinkles from PTI.  It makes for delicious looking taste treat don't you think?

#2-  Again, this features Coffee on the Go.  This time I used the hot cup.  I was inspired by the fun Sketch over at the Friday Mash Up!  I love paper piecing this set and using all this DP from Heidi Swapp and Basic Grey.  The sentiment is from IO and the enamel shapes are from Freckled Fawn.

Now, who's ready for some coffee?!  Me!

Before you go, please visit the Two Paper Divas blog to see all the DT inspiration and other amazing items for the coffee hop.

Fusion- Everything is "Owl" Right

Hello there!  Happy Fusion Day!

Here is this week's fun challenge!

The image and sketch line up great don't they!?  Such cute little book marks!  I don't have much owl stuff though, so didn't incorporate that.  Instead I used this flower from Stampers Anonymous.  Originally I colored the leaves blue and had the yellow strip in the middle of the card blue, but I didn't like how it looked so I tore it out and started again!  Do you ever do that?  Put something down and then rip it back out?  I do it a lot!  The angles of the DP and yellow in the middle are made using a Pretty Pink Posh die.

Please head on over to Fusion to check out the other ladies creations.  After all that you can join us in the fun! :)

Thanks for stopping by today!

Sunday Stamps- 122

Hi friends!  Welcome to another fun Sunday Stamps Challenge!  Here is the sketch for this week:

Here is my take on this week's challenge:

As soon as I saw this set from Lawn Fawn I knew it was a must have for me.  Bigfoot is my buddy. :)  So I stamped this on white as well as a Jane's Doodle balloon.  I colored them with my Copics and put them on this blue CS from SU!  I added this cute sentiment and that's all.

Please head on over to Sunday Stamps to join the fun and see all the DT creations.

TPD Blog Hop!

Hello Two Paper Divas fans!  This week you get a few extra days of TPD goodness because this is their first ever blog hop!  YAY!

The theme for this hop is Easter or Spring.

When I think spring, the first thing that pops into my mind are Crocuses, Daffodils and Tulips!  I love them all.  There is a fabulous Tulip Festival in my neck of the woods and we often go to it every spring.  I love the bright happy colors against the dull color of the field, so vibrant and uplifting.  Sooo, I made my card with that in mind.  I used the Wheelbarrow and Seed Packet Flowers with some creative masking to make them work together.  I used my copics to color it all in and added some light shading underneath.  The orange CS (SU!) and sequins (Neat and Tangled) really catch the eye.  I used some patterned vellum and ribbon as a bonus and used the sentiment from the newly released March set called for you.

This hop is going on from the 11th to the 13th, so please check out and comment on all the stops along the way!  Here is the complete with all the amazing projects by our Design Team!

Katie (You are here!)-

Oh dear!  I forgot to mention the prizes.  Two lucky commenting winners will get a $20 dollar gift certificate to the TPD store!  I hope you find that motivation enough to go visit all these sweet ladies.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

TPD Wednesday-

Have you seen the TPD March release yet?  If not, you better get moving, they have some fun stamps in this month's line up.

For example...Flowers for You!  Such a fun and versatile set.  Something you can use for almost any occasion!

As you know, I enjoy coloring, so that part was easy for me.  It was fun to chose some not so typical colors for me, red, saffron and sepia.  I typically don't use this many layers of cardstock, so that was fun for me.  And I really love the button, though you can't see it in the photo, underneath there is a flower impression in the middle.  The perfect match for this card.

Now I guarantee you are gonna want to head on over to TPD to see all the new releases and all the other cards by the DT.  A Fabulous collection of creations.

Oh- PS- I'll let you in on a little secret (shhhh) TPD is having their first blog hop later this week, so stay tuned!
PPS- there will be gift certificates for a few lucky commenters!  EEK!

Fusion- Lucky Days

Who knows this movie?

Dirty Harry, 1971.

Now, do YOU feel lucky?   I sure do, because it is Fusion Day!  Furthermore, check this out....

See, I wasn't joking!  AND head on over to the Fusion blog to see all the DT cards and you will be even more lucky to feel inspired by their amazing creations.

Here is my take on this week's challenge:

I took the colors from the image and the sketch and smashed them together into one.

I had so much fun using the Lawn Fawn Year Two set.  This turtle is adorable.  I gridded of my white paper and stamped these guys directly on the white and then used my Copics to color them in.  I think they look pretty cute, but I will tell you I had to color a few samples first, to get the look I wanted. Then I added the little had to the last little turtle (cute!). The cardstock is SU! but the DP is also Lawn Fawn.  I added a bit of fun ribbon to tie it all together and there you go.

This is an appropriate card for me to share today because today is my Mama's birthday!  I get to see her and celebrate this weekend and celebrate with her and I am so excited.  She is such an amazing, supportive and lovely woman.

Thanks for stopping by today, I always feel LUCKY when you visit! :)

TPD Wednesday- Home Sweet Home

Howdy do friends!  How are you this fine day?  I am good, it is always fun to be here on the blog.

Before I get to my card today, I am wondering if there are any bird watchers out there?  Though my father is and my good family friend is, I myself can't claim to be one.  In fact, I never really appreciated them much.  That is until I went to Thailand and even more so Costa Rica.  I never even imagined the colors, sizes, shapes and splendor birds come in.  My two favorite sightings were seeing a hummingbird in a nest (so tiny!) and the Resplendent Quetzal (you must google this beauty!).  So now you could say I have a better appreciation for birds.  One of my fave local birds, besides the hummers are the sweet Chickadee.  You can totally identify it by it's call because it says, "Chicka-dee-dee-dee."  Small and sweet.

Today's card is modeled after that sweet chickadee.  Here is a photo of one compliments of google.

Now admittedly, I went a little crazy with the yellow on this, but I still like the outcome. This stamp was one of my Two Paper Diva must haves, it is called Sing Like a Bird.  LOVE, LOVE, LOVE.  I enjoyed coloring with my copics and setting it up against this SUPER old-school SU! Designer Paper (I am talking like 7 years old...I think).  The color combo paired perfectly with the bird and the blue backdrop.  I also added the TPD stamp Home Family Blessing, which was a new release in January of this year. Throw in a doily, a pewter clip and some twine and you've got yourself a card with a bit of a shabby chic feel.

I'll most likely be giving this one to my Papa, who will greatly appreciate it.

Now, head on over to Two Paper Divas Blog for DT Wednesday to see all the creations the ladies have made up!
