SSC108

Hello my friends!  Happy Sunday to you!  I am here today combining a Sunday Stamps Challenge with some Paper Smooches Stamps just in time for the new school year to start. Here is this week's inspiration:

This fun CAS sketch lends itself to just about anything, so many options!  Here is my take:

As I mentioned, school is just around the corner and my kiddo will be entering second grade.  I think this card will start off the school year just right for her new teacher.  Super easy card that features a bunch of different paper from Pink Paislee's Hey Kid collection.  It provided the background, the sentiment and the scalloped strip along the bottom.  I stamped and colored the apple from Paper Smooches Fruitastic collection.  I added a couple of red MME enamel dots for a little extra flair.

Do me a favor and head on over to Sunday Stamps and check out the other ladies creations.  We have everything this week, ranging from spring through winter.  Hope you'll play this week's challenge with us too!

The Wonder of Crayola

CRAYOLA CRAYONS...

The sight of them still makes me nostalgic for my childhood.  Now I get the pleasure of coloring with my daughter.

Last minute, I decided to make a card for the current Lawnscaping Challenge with the theme of back to school.

I thought this would be the perfect card for my girl to give to her new teacher when school starts.

I used the Color My World set from Lawn Fawn.  I stamped them in succession and colored them with my Copics.  (A great stress reliever for me by the way).  I cut a slit in my base cardstock and made the crayons pop out as if they were in the box.  I used some green washi on the edges to make it look like and actual crayola box.  Where I needed darker green, I just used multiple layers of it.  Finally I used my Lawn Fawn circle dies to round the top of the box.  Here is another view.

Just Keep Swiming

Who doesn't love Finding Nemo?!  Such a fabulous movie.  It is hard to pick a favorite character but I sure do love Dori and her perky attitude!  Also...did you know there is a Finding Nemo 2 coming out in 2016?!?  Yep, it is called Finding Dori! So excited!!!  (Yes, I am a parent who never watches adult movies and I love the adult humor in the children's movies!  As an aside, Inside Out was great but super sad....sniffle, bring tissue.)

Since we are talking sea creatures, it is a perfect opportunity to introduce my card for this week's CASology challenge.  The theme is aquatic.

Here is what I made using the new Avery Elle Swim Team.  I stamped it on watercolor paper and colored the images with Copics.  I then used my watercolor pen to create the sea.  I love this sentiment, keep on swimming, the perfect encouragement for someone in need.  The enamel dots are perfect for the bubbles. Cuteness abound!

That is all, just a quick post today.

Thanks for stopping by!

Sunday Stamps #107

Are you ready to welcome some color into your life?!  I hope so.... check this out!

This is the fabulous inspiration from this week's Sunday's Stamps post.  The colors and inspiration just make me happy.

Here is my take on the challenge.

I stamped and embossed this poppy image from Impress on white.  I then used a watered down version of my Firecracker and Mister Huey mists to paint on layers of color, including saturating the white paper so no white space remained.  I went in and added some pops of color with a sharpie.  The sentiment is from Neat and Tangled. My fave is the effect of the bright green and black with the red.

Please head over to the Sunday Stamps blog and check out all the fab creations and then join along for the fun.

Thanks for stopping!

Another Birthday!

Not only did I get to share a card earlier this am for a friend's birthday, but I have another friend who is celebrating today as well.  Drum roll please.....  Lesley Croghan!

Lesley is a super sweet gal who is just so amazingly creative and such a kind person.  Anyone who is a teacher for a living is pretty much a superhero in my eyes!  HAPPY BIRTHDAY LESLEY!

I know Lesley is out and about at the moment enjoying herself, but hopefully she'll stop by and read this.  Lesley- I hope your day is all you hoped girl!

I made this card for Ms. Lesley using the new Avery Elle set Bring on the Cake.  I stamped and cut it out using the coordinating dies.  I colored the image in with my Copics.  I used my Lawn Fawn journal card as a base for the image with SU! wisteria wonder.  I mounted that on this lovely chalkboard paper from We R Memory Keepers. I love the contrast of the chalkboard and polkadots with the bright and delicious looking cake slice.

Please head to Lesley's blog and wish her a happy birthday.

Birthday Blog Hop....

Today is a special day! I know a lucky ladies that is having birthday's today! Some of the PNW ladies are having a blog hop for Ms. Amy Tsuruta!!!!

If you don't know Amy, you should, she is a delight! She is cute, perky, super crafty and just an all amazing friend. HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMY!

Here is what I made for this lovely friend of mine.

This card features Altenew's Persian Motifs. This set is extra special because Amy gave it to me. I embossed the images white on watercolor paper. I used gelatos and a watercolor pen to apply the color lightly. The gelatos were great because I was able to use just a tiny amount of pigment to add loads of color. I had no intention of fussy cutting it all out, but that is just how it evolved. I love the color against the Kraft paper coupled with the Neat and Tangled sequins. The sentiment, perfect for Amy, is from Mama Elephant.

Please visit the other ladies on the hop and then visit Ms. Amy and wish her the happiest of birthdays!
