Colour Me #73

What's that, happy Wednesday you say?  Happy Wednesday back at you!!!

Today is what I like to call Wacky Wednesday.  You are wondering why and I'll tell you... because we have a super fun and playful challenge for you over at Colour Me this week.  The inspiration and colors are down right wacky (good wacky- lol)!!!

I'll be super honest, this challenge was hard for me.  My saving grace was this fabulous paper from Basic Grey Grand Bazaar collection, the colors were all cued up for me.  Some of the DP even had the Lost Lagoon, but I didn't pick those ones.  This DP sheet was one of my fave, so old and loud and perfect t mount with layers of Razzleberry and Blackberry Bliss (both SU!) behind.  I used gold embossing powder to bling up the sentiment from Walter and Winnie.  Finally, I added the enamel dots from MME.

So what bold statement do you plan to make with these colors?  There is a TON of inspiration over at the Colour Me blog.  The DT did such an amazing job with this challenge, please visit them and give them some bloggie love!

They are having a DT call over at Colour Me, be sure to check it out.  I can honestly say, this has been such a fun challenge team and the colors have stretched my mind in new ways.  Go try out! :)

Howdy friends!  Happy Sunday on this Memorial Day Weekend!

Nothing like celebrating a holiday weekend with a little crafting and over at Sunday Stamps we have a fun sketch lined up for you.  It is so versatile and fun, check it out:

Here is my creation for the week.  I used some super fun products on this card, some paper from Crate Paper, Fancy Pants sequins, Freckled Fawn washi and this fabulous stamps from Impress.  I used my copics to color in a gradient of color on the stamps, cut it out and covered it with a layer of glossy accents.  It took quite a while to dry and my daughter wanted to pick it up and play with it. LOL.

As I said, this sketch has so many possiblities, so head over to the Sunday Stamps blog to check out all of the amazing impiration!

Fusion Challenge- YOU!

Hello YOU!   Yes I am talking to YOU...the one reading this blog post right now!  Who else would I be talking to?!?!  Thank YOU for coming by to see the latest and greatest Fusion Card Challenge. We have some fun in store today!  Check out this decadent inspiration photo and the fun sketch.....
Now, let me share how I was inspired by this challenge.  I cashed in on this 7 Gypsies butterfly stamp set, won it as blog candy from Ms. Virginia Lu herself!  I stamped the butterflies in black on saffron paper and cut them out.  I used this pre-made tag from Pink Paisley (LOVE) and popped those butterflies up on top.  I stapled the tag on for fun and used some Studio Calico twine to top it off. Mounted on the Bermuda Bay CS from Stampin' Up! the other colors just pop out at you.

YOU won't pass up a chance to play with this fun challenge would you?!  No, I thought not. Head over to the Fusion blog and check out all the amazing inspiration and then link up!

A huge thank you for stopping by my blog today.  Honestly, YOU brighten my day every time you stop by!!!

Colour Me #72

Howdy, how is your day today?  Mine is good.  I did something pretty cool this weekend, compliments of my hubby.  I'll share more later, but first to the lovely Colour Me card challenge and fun colors.  Check out the subtle pallet we have for this week's challenge.

Pretty rocking right?  I just love this color combo.   Here is what I made with these fab colors.

This fun card has the base colors from Stampin Up!.. Bermuda Bay and Pear Pizzazz.  The DPs are from Heidi Swapp.  I used some May Arts yellow twill ribbon and yellow enamel dots from MME The awesome tea pot and sentiment are from Serendipity Stamps, I won them at the last Coffee Loving Papercrafters blog hop!  YAY!

OK, so head over to the Colour Me blog and check out all the creations the fab DT made.  You can check out their blog too and leave them some love.

Before you go, here is what I did this weekend... I went to Urban Float.

The description- During a float you are suspended effortlessly in a super saturated solution of epsom salt and water within a light and sound controlled environment that reduces sensory stimulation and effectively suspends the effects of gravity on the central nervous system. The water is at skin temperature and after a few minutes you lose the awareness of where the body ends and the water begins. Resting in this unique environment creates profound changes within the mind/body system and actually improves the overall function of the brain and central nervous system.

It really was pretty cool.  The sensory deprivation was well needed and I felt great after.

Have a fun day!

Colour Me #71

Hello dear friends!  So glad you could come by today because it is time for a fun and STRIKING Colour Me Challenge.  Just check out these fun colors:

The image is very CAS and fun!  I grasped that fun feel and pulled out some of my Jane's Doodles stamps because this is Fun with a capital F!

Isn't she just darling!  I colored her with my copics and I used glossy accents to make the tooth have a little shine.  All the other products are SU! papers and ribbons.

This little fairy totally reminds me of my kiddo when she lost her first tooth.  Love this kid and think she is the most darling of all! :)

Time to head on over the the Colour Me blog and then to the other DT blogs to get inspired!

Katie Brooks  (that's me!)

I do hope you'll join us for this challenge. :)

Fusion's going Frilly

Hello!  Happy Thursday!

This weekend is going to be the BEST-EST ever!  Why?  Well Fusion is here and that means you can come play AND it is my Hubby's birthday!  He is turning 40 and I am having a big surprise party for him on Saturday.  SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!  Don't tell!  We have family coming into town and all kinds of stuff planned. Also, I had two kidney stones last weekend, so by comparison, anything will be wonderful! :)

Back to the awesome challenge at hand.......

....TA-DA!  Isn't this just a fun challenge.  I love the soft sweet image and the fun sketch.

Here is the card I made this week.  I was so loving the sharp and crisp yellow and wanted to pull that out.  I stamped my SU! images on some Dear Lizzy DP, leaving the pink edge and hole for flair.  I colored the leaves grey and used that sharp yellow (Copics) and I just love how the colors turned out.  The background paper is dark grey, but there is a strip of black that is hard to see in the image.  I put the black strip up front and put my Pinkfresh Studio woodchippy on top.  Again, love this SU! set and the sentiment is awesome, it fit perfectly into this pre-punched Melon Mambo circle I had sitting in my scrap bin.  I am happy with this card, I just love the images and the intense color combo.

So, that is all I have for you today, BUT the DT has lots more in store.  Go over to the Fusion blog and check everything out and then leave each of the DT members some love too. :)

Colour Me #70

Happy Colour Me day!  I am excited to share this week's challenge, because it features one of my fave colors, Crisp Cantaloupe!

This week, I made a sweet baby card.  I used my SU! cardstock and featured a whole lot of Teresa Collins Paper.  I just love the feminine floral onsie (Top Dog Dies) against the I love you oval (MFT).  The white leaves are actually wire, a super fun purchase from Freckled Fawn.  I finished it off with some hemp twine meandering off from that delish button.

Please head on over to the Colour Me blog and check out all the creations and join us for the fun.  You can find lots of inspiration at all of the DT blogs as well.  The lovely ladies can be found here:
