The elusive unicorn

Just a quick post tonight, I wanted to share the card I made earlier this week for the Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge and the Color Q Challenge

Here are the challenges I played with.  Originally I was playing with the PSSparks sketch, but I missed the deadline, so entering it into anything goes. :)

Here is the card I made.  The stamp set is te Paper Smooches Spectrum.  I love the fun and girly feel of this set.  I used SU! glossy white paper and it had a bit of a different effect with my markers, but I liked the way it made the shadows pop out. I had the pale plum marker but not the paper, so I had to use a slightly different shade of purple.  The DP is from Heidi Swapp.  I added some woodchip stars from Freckled Fawn for fun.

Thats all, thanks for stopping this eve!

Delectable Dish with Fusion

OK, who's hungry?  If you aren't, you might be in just a minute and here is why....

Doesn't this week's Fusion Card Challenge look delectable?!  I surely think so and it inspired me to create something fun...

I don't usually use too much bright yellow on cards, but in this instance it just worked, so I went with it.  I love the bold yellow background and the washi tape.  I stamped the image from Penny Black on the white and then cut the ovals with My Favorite Things oval dies.  I then stamped the happy birthday and banner on Pool Party and cut it just so it would wrap around the cake stand.  My final touches include glitter on the cupcakes and the Neat and Tangled Sequins.

Please head on over to the Fusion blog and check out the amazing creations the other ladies made. Then feel free to join us for the challenge.

Thanks for stopping today!

Colour Me #64-

Hello crafting buddies!  How are you today?

Colour Me has a super fun and playful challenge for you this week, check this out:

Wow right?!  Such a stunning image and I love shells.  I assume they are abalone, but I don't know. I decided to keep with the ocean theme.

I love these blueprint stamps from Stamper's Anonymous, the seahorse is super fun.  I stamped and fussy cut it out and colored it with my copics.  I stamped the background on my Coastal Cabana paper before running it through with my circle embossing folder.  Then I mounted the seahorse.  I put that on some Bermuda Breeze paper.  I added some red pearls for that extra pop of color.

So, what are you gonna make for this challenge?  Will you go with an ocean theme, or maybe patriotic or????

Here are the fabulous creations the other ladies came up with:

Colour Me #63

Hello and welcome to another round of Colour Me!  This week we are playing with some colors a little more subtle.....

Here is what I made for this week:

I used some all SU! papers.  The Marina Mist in the background, with some yellow daffodil paper on top (can't remember the SU! DP line, retired) with another layer of Marina Mist on top in Top Dog Dies Modern Mosaic Die.  I used some fun sand colored ribbon in the middle, you'll also notice some enamel dots, the SU! floral stamp and the sentiment.  I soaked the sentiment in the brown ink to make the color.

I hope you will come and join us this week at Colour Me!  We can't wait to see your creations.  If you need a little inspiration to get you there, you can find plenty right here.....

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day all!  I hope that you are feeling lucky today!?!

We are having a potluck at work and I've made some soda bread and will be bringing some green St. Patty's Day punch.  Both compliments of Pinterest.  Don't they look good?

When the bread came out of the oven last night...well let's just say my co-workers are lucky it made it to work today!  Smelled so delicious!

In addition to that, I made a bingo game for the group to play.  My daughter has some paint daubers that we'll use to mark our cards, so fun.  As a prize, I bought a pack of shamrock straws from the dollar store. I packaged them in this fun gold and white striped bag and added this tag.  The stamps are from Lawn Fawn, colored in with Copics.  I added some Neat and Tangled Sequins, some twine and a little Pebbles Inc.clothespin.  Nothing much, but fun for someone I hope.

Well that is it for today.  I hope you enjoyed this quick post and may the luck of the Irish be with you today!

Moments

Good morning and happy Monday!

It poured here in the Seattle area all weekend, especially yesterday.  It was a good weekend to stay inside. But you know what they say about spring rain, it brings spring flowers.

Speaking of spring flowers, I decided to made some so I could play with the current round of The Card Concept. Here is the inspiration:

I went with the clean and layered look for my card, and here it is:

I used an assortment of flowers from Hero Arts, PTI and Stampin' Up! for my blooms and mixed and matched them with colors and layers.  The background stamp is from Impress and the sentiment is from Versus Rubber Stamps.  I am in love with the colors of the flowers and can thank my Copics for that.  They color so nice and evenly, I really love them.  The little enamel dots in the purple flowers are the perfect shade of purple, they almost look clear here, they are from Pebbles Inc. All the flowers and colors together make me imagine stopping to pick a bouquet from the garden or wildflowers in the meadow....sweet little moments in time.

I am also entering this into the Shabby Tea Room #248- Beautiful Blooms.  Here is their inspiration photo:

So that is all for today, just a quick post to share. I hope you enjoyed and thanks for stopping.

Fusion-Purple

Hi Fusion Fans!  Happy Thursday!

Are you ready for a new challenge?  Ready....set....GO!!!!!!!!

The time got away from me this week and I didn't realize it was time for another fun challenge.  It may be because this is my second attempt at making a card for this challenge, the first one....er....didn't turn out.  I am trying to block it from my memory. :) LOL.   Some days you have it and some days you don't- you know what I mean?

Here is my card for this week.  I used the lovely feathers from Reverse Confetti on this.  I embossed them white on my paper and then used my Gelatos to add color.  it is a little messy looking, but that is the intent. The paper is SU! and the enamel dots are from Freckled Fawn.

Please head over to Fusion and check out the other ladies cards, they are lovely!  You can check out the rules and submit your entry while you are there too! :)

Happy Thursday!

Colour Me Striking- #62

Colour Me time is here again!  Won't you come and join us for the fun?!  Here is this week's inspiration:

My immediate thought was shamrocks, I mean it is just about St. Patrick's Day and there are lots of green challenges happening out there.  But then I thought I might use these lovely SU! leaves and HAD to use them!

I white embossed them on water color paper.  Once I had them down I used a couple of different SU! greens (Certainly Celery and Garden Green) with my aquapainter to create the water color look.  Then I sprinkled some salt over the top and it draws the color towards it.  Such a cool effect.  The finishing items include the tag with the sentiment from Winnie and Walter, the Ribbon (SU!) and the sequins from Neat and Tangled.   Super fun to make and get messy with.

Sooooooooooooooooooooooooo... come on over to Colour Me and check out all the wonderous creations.  Here are the ladies blogs so you can visit them each individually and leave them some bloggie love!

Cupcake Inspirations 300th Challenge

Hello, back again with another fun creation I made this weekend.  I used Cupcake Inspirations 300th challenge!  I've played the challenge in the past but it has been a while.  I played using their Confetti inspiration photo.

It isn't this fun!  It looks delicious too (and I wish I was eating one right now)!  I had so much fun making a card to go with this inspiration.  I started with this delightfully cute image from Penny Black stamps.  I used my Copics to color it and added some bright confetti on top and around the edge of the wrapper.  I used my spellbinder die to cut around the image.  I really enjoy coloring, it is so therapeutic!  I added some glitter to the frosting and to the wings of this sweet little fairy for a fun touch.  The paper, sentiments and die cut "sprinkles" are all from PTI's Make it to Market kit.  I cut the "sprinkles" sentiment into glitter paper from DCWV.

I hope you enjoyed this quick post.  I really enjoyed making this card and I know some little girl will love it one of these days.

Thanks for stopping today!

Daring choices

Hello.  I do wish it wasn't Sunday night, but what can you do.  The great news is that I had a fabulous weekend.  My family and I went for a hike to Wallace Falls yesterday.  It was quite the hike. Not the longest distance ever, but a lot of up, up, up!  Today, I was able to do some crafting and that was awesome.

I made this card for the Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge that began today.  I was inspired by the mirror in the upper left corner of the picture. I thought I had a stencil similar to that, nope,  i realized I was wrong, so I used this stencil from TCW instead.  I added the color using my Gelatos.  I stamped the I Heart Art set and cut it out.  I put one of the Paper Smooches hearts behind the HE[ART} part of the sentiment.  The paints brushes colored in red to mimic the read heart.  I added some fun ribbon from Simon Says Stamps and some Freckled Fawn red pearls as a finisher.

I don't think I've ever used red and green together with out it being a Christmas/Holiday card.  It was a daring choice for me, but I think it worked out.

I hope you have a good Monday!

Color Me Monochromatic- #61

Here we are ready for another amazing Colour Me challenge!

Lucky for you this monochromatic palette is Tangelo Twist and Neutral....ORANGE you glad we are keeping it bright?!  I am!

This image reminds me of a card that I love made by my friend Kate at Pinned & Penned a while back.  Kate has such a bold style, I so envy her creative genius!  Check out her card here.

Anyhoo, using the photo, colors and Kate for inspiration, I decided to be a little bold myself.  I mimicked the texture in the photo and Kate's card by adding embossing paste, the tattered edges around the starfish and this delectable ribbon (that reminds me of seaweed!) were perfect for the occassion.  The soft hue and gloss of the pearls was a nice contrast.  The products include a Tim Holtz Stencil, Design Memory Craft embossing paste, SU! paper, Stampers Anonymous stamp, copics and Simon Says Stamp pearls.

The minute I finished this I popped it into the mail for my Mother.  Her birthday was yesterday (the 3rd).  Typically we go to the Oregon Coast every year to visit and celebrate, but this year there was a conflict that came up.  So, I thought the card (and the little gift inside) might bring a little bit of cheer to her and ensure that she knew I was thinking of her. :)  Happy Birthday Mama!

So with that I hope you have found some inspiration and will come and join us over at Colour Me! The other gals have some amazing stuff to inspire you further so be sure to check out their blogs too.
