SSC116- Oh snap!

POOF!  Mind blown! The countdown is on, only 5 days till Christmas!

I've been busy doing Christmassy things tho.  Friday night out little camp fire troop went to a retirement home and sang Christmas songs. The folks there really appreciated it.  And...though I believe I have sent all my holiday cards (well at least as many as I can manage to get in the mail...) I still seem to be making them.  Here is one of the latest that I've made.  But first the inspiration!

This is what we have going for Sunday Stamps this week.   If you check out the blog you'll notice that the ladies did a variety of creations and not all are Christmas.  They are all FANTASTIC however, make sure to pop over and look!

Now here is my card for the week.

I have to say, I love this Lawn Fawn set.  I laugh almost every time I read the "Oh Snap!" sentiment.  It is so cute and easy to cut out when you have the cooresponding dies like I do.  These fun guys/gals are sitting atop some October Afternoon paper.  Though it isn't intended to be Christmas, I love it.  Light blue and red are one of my fave holiday combos.  I busted out a few SU! punches that have been gathering dust for a while and am so glad I did.  The addition of the twine and the bling was the perfect accent to draw the eye.

Please do join us for Sunday Stamps this week if you can, we love to see what you create.

Thanks for stopping!

Cocoa, tea, you're the one for me!

Happy Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!

I love that they are over there celebrating National Cocoa Day (12/13) and International Tea Day (12/15).  There is room for all kinds of hot (or cold if you are a freak like me- wink) beverages in your life!  Truthfully, I like my coffee cold, prefer iced tea (black and plain) but will occasionally drink some hot Yogi Tea or hot cocoa.  Even when it snows, I'll almost always choose an iced beverage.

So, I made a fun winter creation for this hop that focuses not on any one drink, but any of the options. Though you will note, this drink is hot and made for sweater weather.  Perfect for coming inside after playing in the snow to warm you up from the inside out.

This card features some SU! Cardstock and Echo Park DP.  I just love the sweater print and the blues. My Lawn Fawn circle dies gave me these perfect circles to frame my cup... for which I used Simon Says Stamp cup and paper pieced it in the fun grey.  The sentiment is from Paper Smooches and the enamel accents are from MME.

I hope you have a wonderful day with lots of coffee, tea, cocoa and/or love to keep you warm!

Goodbye Top Dog Dies

Hello-

Just a quick post today to share my last Top Dog Dies guest DT creations.  I am sad to see them go as I truly loved some of their dies.  AND, they were great to design for because they gave you lots to work with.

This one featured the Penguin die set.  Love these cute guys sledding down the hill.  You can also spy a Lawn Fawn sentiment.

This card features the Snowflake Mosaic Background Die in glittery pink.  Love the shimmer and non traditional colors.  I used MME bits for the banner and the polar bear was my daughters sticker.  I added SU! ribbon for the bears scarf.

Next I have something a little more traditional.  Again I used the Snowflake Mosaic Die, but also used the Ornaments #2 and Number set.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts.

Last but not least this is my favorite of the cards.  It features the Penguin Set, the Snow-globe Set and the Merry Christmas sentiment.  The paper is so fun and it just makes me happy.

With that I bit you adeau Top Dog Dies and the best of luck with everything!  Thanks for stopping by today.

Fusion- Season's Greetings

It is the most wonderful time of the year!  Filled with glitter, lights and holiday joy!

Fusion has a little holiday inspiration for you as well.

This is fun inspiration isn't it!  So many options with the sketch and the image, can't wait to see what everyone creates.

Here is my take using the sketch-

I had fun with this creation, enjoyed using some non-traditional elements.  I started with Cantaloupe CS and used some luscious MME DP that I had been holding onto for just the right occassion.  I love the non-traditional look at the shimmer of the gold.  I then used my SU! Mossy Meadow and cut it using an SU! framelets die.  The fabulous gold glittery deer was already cut, picked it up at my local craft store.  I added the coral ribbon and flower for the finishing touch.

I hope you enjoyed this card and will visit the Fusion blog to check out all the others and come join us for a fun challenge.

SSC115

Hello folks.  Happy Sunday to you!

Sunday Stamps has this fun inspiration for you this week.

Love this image.  Here is what I made for this week:

This is a combo of a TCW stencil and I used Ranger inks over the top.  I then distressed the edges of that layer.  The color is a bit off from the inspiration photo, which I didn't realize, but that's OK.  The sentiment is from Mama Elephant and is double embossed in silver.  I added some Pretty Pink Posh sequins for fun.

So, head on over to the Sunday Stamps blog and check out all the inspiration. I hope you'll join us this week.

I'll have a Blue Christmas....

First!  Happy Thanksgiving to those in the US!  I am thankful for all of YOU, local and abroad!  This crafting community is wonderful, thank you for making it so!

Onto the Challenge!

You know the words to the song Blue Christmas right?  Well I know the song is about being lonely and sad but I prefer to think a blue Christmas can be beautiful!  Looky here and see what I mean.

Wow eh?!  Yeah, it makes me happy and if I have a Blue Christmas it will be...without ...WITH YOU!  :)

Here is my creation for the week, using both the image and the sketch.  I started with the idea of the blue embossed snowflakes (Simon Says Stamp) on white.  I was going to put them directly on the turquoise paper (SU!) but decided I needed a layer in between.  I went and found this thin and glitterific silver paper (American Crafts) and cut it to size then used the snowflake punch (Martha Stewart) to make it a bit more fancy.  Next I stamped the banner on the blue using white embossing powder and included the sentiment (Hero Arts).  Once I cut and mounted it I decided to add the silver embossed dove (Mama Elephant).  So much sparkle!

Please do stop by the Fusion blog and check out the AMAZING creations over there.  They are simply fabulous!  BUT...before you go... Two questions for you: #1  What are you grateful for?  #2- if you had to chose one single color to decorate for the holidays with, which color would it be?

That's all today.  From the bottom of my heart, thank you for visiting!

SSC114- Yetiiiiiiiiii

EEK!  I love this week's challenge for Sunday Stamps.  The sketch is super clean and simple with so much opportunity for amazing creations. Check it out:

For my creation this week I used a combo of stamps and elements.  I LOVE how it turned out.  I am not sure if it is all the stripes and the simple colors, or the cutie pie stamps, but I am happy with it.  :) What I used was a combo of stamps, mostly Lawn Fawn, using the Yeti, Set, Go and Ready, Set, Snow  (match made in heaven much?!).  The north pole stamp is from Amuse and perfect for this. The DP behind the globe is also Lawn Fawn and the other is American Crafts.  I finished it off with a little holiday colored twine.

The team has created a huge variety of fun and fabulous cards.  I hope you will head over to the Sunday Stamps blog to check them out and get inspired to play!

Happy Sunday to all!

Fusion- Welcome

Fusion is here.  Check out this week's challenge.

You've probably heard the saying, "home is where the heart is."  So true, so true.  I have a co-worker who just bought her first house.  So excited for her.  So the "welcome" and flowers above made me think of her.

I went for a true Fusion this round, picking up bits and pieces of both the image and the sketch.  I used a some Freckled Fawn washi, a Top Dog Dies die for the sentiment from Simon Says Stamp.  I colored in the heart and added Crystal effects.  You can also spot a few little woodchip stars (also Freckled Fawn) acattered around the edges.  The jar and flowers are both Impression Obessesion dies.  I particularly love the paper used for the blooms, the colors are all breathtaking.

Head on over to Fusion and check out all the DT projects.

Thanks for joining us today!

Happy Birthday Little Bean!

I am such a lucky mom and my darling daughter turned 8 this week!  I can't tell you how much I love her. This year she is obsessed with Pokemon and Pikachu.  Case in point- here is her Halloween costume.

This costume was made by our dear neighbor.  You can't see the stripes on the back and the zig-zag tail, but it is there.  Pretty cute eh?!

So....since her birthday is 3 days post-Halloween, we are having a Pokemon Party.  I made her a card for her actual birthday and some party favors for the kids party.

The card is made from Lawn Fawn circle dies and circle and oval punches.  I used my Copics to add the mouth, nose and color to the ears and tail.  She loved it.

For her party, I made a variety of things.  First a Pokemon ball tag, simply colored half red and used washi across the middle.  I used circle punches for the middle and put each kids initial on each tag.  In the background you can see the Pokemon trainer certificate, one for each kid with their name printed from my computer.  Next a Pokemon ball decoration or ornament.  This is a clear plastic holiday ornament.  I put tape down the middle and painted the inside of each half with white and red. It took several coats of paint.  Once dry I closed them up and used electric tape around the outside to hold it together and provide the black stripe.  More circle punches add the center mounted on dimensionals and a finishing touch of twine. I'll also be adding a few Pokemon cards and some appropriate colored starburst.  Come back later to see more decor and the party treats!

So..... I think you can tell I love my little Bean Bag (as we like to call her) and this is one of the ways I show it.  I hope she has an amazing birthday party because she is an amazing girl!

SSC113

Hello Friends.  Happy day to you!  I hope you are enjoying this Sunday.

It is Sunday Stamps Day to share another fun challenge with you.  I love, LOVE this image and the colors.

Blue, that's my color, my fave, fave color.

This big bold image from Impress and I did some rock and roll stamping using a combo of Neon Blue from Hero Arts and old and retired Ballet Blue from Stampin Up!.  I used leaves from Walter and Winnie, I used Burnt Brown Sugar and Chocolate Chip to stamp there.  The base CS is also from SU!, Kraft and Marina Mist.  I accented this with a combo of twine and gold tied in a bow on this clip.  Then added the Freckled Fawn wood chips and MME gold enamel dots.

Always love playing with the fun challenges at Sunday Stamps and hope you will come and join us!

Fusion Poppies

Hello Fusion Fans!  Happy Thursday to you and Happy ALMOST Halloween!

Meanwhile, this round of Fusion feels more springy than fall.

For my creation this week I was channeling my friend and fellow Fusion teamie Kimberly Wiener.  She does the most amazing things with stencils, I am always in awe.

For this card, I obviously used a stencil on white cardstock.  The stencil Dylusions and I used my Ranger Stormy Sky Distress ink to add color.  I die cut the notebook paper shape from Paper Smooches on actual notebook paper.  I stamped the image from Woodware Craft Collection on White and used more distress inks to add color (Fired Brick, Peeled Paint and Wild Honey), applying the yellow in the middle with a sponge dauber.   I cut them out and mounted them up and added the sentiment.

Head on over to Fusion and check out all the amazing DT creations. You will leave feeling inspired!

Since it is almost Halloween, I need to know... are you dressing up?  Do you know what you are gonna be?

Fall Hello- 2 Crafy Girls

I am guesting over at 2 Crafty Girls Challenge  again.  Loving this month's theme of Halloween/Fall, check out the mood board.

And....this month's challenge is sponsored by Dies R Us. You name the kind of die and you can bet that they probably carry it!

Here is my card for this challenge.  I focused on the sketch for the challenge.

I used these leaves from TDD making this fabulous BasicGrey DP steal the stage.  I also used this backdrop die from TDD in Pool Party CS from SU!.  I also brushed Baked Brown Sugar around the edges and used it for the sentiment.  I put some of the ruffled Calypso Coral ribbon behind.  Pretty pleased with how fabulous those three leaves look.

You have a few days left to come join the challenge over at 2 Crafty Girls.  Head on over!
