On the Tree Farm

Hello!  I is 9 pm on Thanksgiving here in the US and I can't believe this holiday has come to pass already.  The year is moving so quickly!

One of the things I am thankful this year is having been on the Stuck on U Sketches Design Team. They have been fabulous to work with, a great group of gals with some awesome inspiration.  Sadly, this is my last SOUS post.  So I'd go out with a big thank you to all of them!  Onward and upward as the saying goes....

My last challenge with the SOUS ladies is Into the Woods.

I had a ton of fun with this challenge.  As you can see I made rows of trees from my Lawn Fawn die in slightly different shades of green.  I popped some out for dimension.  On the back row I added a little white to the tops to indicate a dusting of snow, which is the perfect thing to see at a tree farm. On the blue sky backdrop, I used my Simon Says Stamp stencil and a gold pen to create stars.  Finally I stamped and paper pieced the trees and camper, also Lawn Fawn.  I have and could have used cooresponding LF dies, but I chose to cut these by hand.  Finally, I finished with a little coloring on the camper and a little string of lights or garland.  That was a super small stamp from Sweet Stamp Shop that I colored in green and added red bling.

All in all I love this card.  I honestly hadn't thought of it as a tree farm initially, just a little camping couple enjoying a quiet holiday.  Then my hubby said, it looks like a tree farm and I was sold on the idea!  It actually reminds me of a farm we sometimes go to and the little camper sells coffee and hot cocoa- YUM!  Getting and decorating a tree is one of my fave holiday traditions, so looking forward to that.

So, THANK YOU again to all the fabulous DT Sisters over at SOUS!  Please head over to see what amazing creations they made!

Ornament Tutorial

I am over on the Top Dog Dies blog today sharing a tutorial on ornaments.  This is something you can make with the kids at the next holiday party.  They are fun, festive and an easy win!  I hope you will stop by and see!

Happy Thanksgiving...almost!

Hello there!  T-minus 2 day to Thanksgiving here in the US.  I am pretty excited since my Dad is coming to visit.  We always have a small gathering, but it is fun none the less.

I have a fun card to share with you today.  It isn't a traditional Thanksgiving card, just a hello card, but I think the lovely colors that are perfect for this fall event.

This card features some new Top Dog Dies, the Top Dog Dies Gift Tag Die Set and the Top Dog Dies Hello Die Set.   These fun dies are perfect for this card and I love how inexpensive the dies are. You can get a few and use them in so many ways.  For this card, I coupled the dies with some Stampin' Up! Bermuda Bay and a little bit of Melon Mambo.  The DP and pre-cut florals are from BasicGrey's Grand Bazaar Collection.

Before you go, I want you to know I am thankful to be able to craft and also thankful to be able to share with each of you.  Likewise, I am extremely thankful for all your comments and love you leave.

Your turn!  I'd love to hear what you are thankful for if you are willing to share?!  I'd also love to know if you are going shopping on Black Friday and what items are on your list?

To some wonderful friends

Sometimes Mondays are a little hard.  Why, well it is always hard to get up Monday am after having time to sleep in and rest on the weekend.  In fact, this am, I have to be at a meeting at 6:30 in the morning!  UGH!  OK, done whining! :)  What this post is really about is what cheers you up when you are down.

So....what cheers you up when you are feeling down?

Me, I like many things, but one thing that I love is to get together with my crafty friends Amy, Kimberly, Tonya, Kate, Lisa and Laura) as often as I can (usually once per month) and create.  We have so much fun and we laugh so much.  It is fabulous!  A few months back when we were all together I made this card and it seems an appropriate tribute to them.

This features some SU! paper, Bo Bunny, The Twinery and a stamp and die that I am not sure of.  I know...that is bad....but I borrowed the stamp from Kimberly (LOVE IT) and I think the die was Amy's and was Reverse Confetti...but please forgive me for not being certain.

So thank you ladies for making my days bright!!  I look forward to our next get together in a week!

Fusion is getting Festive!

It's official.  I've been making holiday cards like crazy, started my shopping and today I saw my first house with Christmas lights.  So, here I am, ready to revel in the season.

If you aren't in the mood yet, don't worry, this week's Fusion Challenge will put you in the right mood.

Here is the challenge:

I am humming..."Silver Bells, Silver Bells....it's Christmas time in the city."

Here is what I made for this challenge:

This card features a lot things I adore. In no particular order, there is the small metal wreath from Freckled Fawn, the stars from Jolee's Boutique, the embossing folder from SU!, the woodgrain DP and red ribbon, the enamel (or metal?) dot from MME and finally the sentiment in silver embossing powder from Lawn Fawn.

Super star line up don't you think?!  I love all of these products, I mean wow.  I can't even pick a fave product!  I hope you like it too!

Now prepare yourself for more...much more fabulousness over at the Fusion blog.

Happy Holidays with Top Dog Dies

There was a time when I was waiting for Top Dog Dies to come out with more word dies.  Well, they did, they are here and I am a happy camper. :)

Today I wanted to share with you a fun card featuring the new Top Dog Dies Happy Die Set and the Top Dog Dies Holidays Die Set.  They are both fun and perfect for the occasion.  I love that you can pair the happy with the other Top Dog Dies words and I also love that they each come with shadows if you want to use them.

For this card, I've just used the words with out the shadows.  I mean, with all that glitter and sparkle, who really needs the shadow!  I love how the red shimmers in the light!  It makes me feel festive all over.  In fact...I think there might be some candy canes around here.....

OK, I am off to find that candy cane treat or maybe some egg nog.  I hope you will come back later this week as I have holiday cards lined up ready to share!

Happy Fall

Happy Fall to you!  It is that time of year.  I am anticipating turkey and mashed potatoes, fires in the fireplace and being cozy under blankets.  What about you?

IT is time for another Stuck on U Sketches Die Cut Challenge.  This time you can make anything with FALL COLORS.  Easy Peasy.

Here is what I came up with...

This fun card uses several Top Dog Dies (Sophie A2 Mat and Fall Foliage sets) and some awesome paper from DCWV's Green Stack.  The base colors are Crumb Cake and Really Rust from SU!  The sentiment is from amuse- an oldy but a goody.  Finally, I love how the glitter leaf and the bling pull it all together.

Have yourself a krafty little Christmas!

You may think I have misspelled krafty, but no, I tell you it is intentional.  I wanted to share a quick card I made using some kraft cardstock that was easy and fun for Christmas.

Thar she is!

Don't you love the embossing folder?  I borrowed that little Cuttlebug beauty from my friend Kate and I love it. The paper is compliments of Doodlebug Design.  The sentiment on the tiny tag is from Lawn Fawn.  The snowflake...my friend Kimberly gave to me.  Last but not least an SU! button.

So simply and fairly easily reproducible!  But, I also go for more complicated than needed so I am gonna try to take it down a notch towards very easy. ;)

High Contrast

Happy Wednesday folks!  How is everyone doing today?  I am feeling c-c-c-cold!  The weather turned on a dime and is super frigid.  Still though, the sun is out during the day and that is awesome. This the season to be thankful for wonderful things like that.

Speaking of thanks, I have a fun card for you today that is using some of the newly released Top Dog Dies.  In particular, this features the Top Dog Die Thanks A2 Mat Die.  I love this die, it can be used in so many fun ways... a window card, a shaker or or a layered card.  I wanted to use it in a layered way with some highly contrasting designer papers.  I love how the black and white offset the floral here and I love how the flower and leaves pick up some of the bright colors.   Of course the gold twine just makes a nice accent.

I am die-ing to know (sorry, I couldn't resist the cheese here!) in what way would you envision using this die?!

I thank you for stopping by and hope you have found some mid-week inspiration here.  Hugs!

Warm and Cozy

Hello Friends!  I wanted to share a quick Sunday post with you as I was feeling inspired by the season.

This card is much more CAS than my typical style.  I like to think I was channeling Tracey McNeely when I made this card as she is the queen of CAS.  Oh and it is her Birthday tomorrow- HAPPY BIRTHDAY TRACEY!

I used a few different DPs from Basic Grey.  The Pumpkins are of my remaining wood mount stash that I am no willing to part with, made by Great Impressions.  The sentiments are from Simple Christmas by Neat and Tangled.  I used a Martha Steward punch along the bottom.  Finally, i used Hemptique Cord around the edges and N&T fall sequin mix for my sparkle.  You'll see from the Cure for the Monday Blues challenge photo (below) that I was mimicking the berried branches around the pumpkins on this table and he rich colors for the Card Concept Pic (also below).
