Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Hello and happy Monday!  You know the best and ONLY way to start off a Monday is with Coffee! I myself will be drinking an iced black and white mocha.  What about you?  What is your coffee drink of choice?  I don't really prefer hot coffee, the colder the better.

So onto this fabulous hop put together by Amy Tsuruta and Chiatali.  There are HUGE amounts of prizes.  But first, here are two cards that I made for this hop:

I made this with a new Simon Says Stamp Coffee set.   I used some Allison Kreft paper and some Smash Washi tape.   I used my MME enamel dots and glossy accents in the heart.  I love the colors and the final look.

Second, I made this card with one of Sweet Stamp Shop's new release Coffee Town.  I colored this sweet coffee shop using my SU! markers and again used glossy accents for the windows.  The DP is from Bo Bunny, I love the soft pastels.  I used my Lawn Fawn journal card for the white backdrop and hearts (also covered with glossy accents) and the blue twine from Timeless Twine.

OK, onto the details.  You have until 11:59 pm tonight to link up to the hop to be eligible to win a prize.  They are FABULOUS so it is totally worth it.  Check this out:

Enjoy your morning coffee AND this fabulous blog hop!  Be sure to head on over to Chaitali's blog to join in!

Top Dog Dies Release Day

Happy Friday to you!  Are you glad the weekend is here?  Do you have any plans?  I'll be going to a kids b-day party, a soccer game, breakfast with a friend, and hangin' with the fam.  All things I love!

Speaking of love, welcome to the newest Top Dog Dies Release.  I am featuring the Top Dog Dies
Finley Die here on my blog today. Isn't is fabulous?!  I think so and I love this chic color combo.

The papers are Studio Calico and the plain is SU!  I cut the edge of the Finley Die in dark blue twice to get these thin edges and adhered them down.  It looks to me like lots of layers but that is the optical allusion. They aren't exactly the same side, but it looks intentional...right!?! ;)  The love this and banners is actually part of a Heidi Swapp sticker that I cut into pieces and used what I wanted.  Last the hearts are MME and I LOVE the shimmer they give.

National Coffee Day is coming up and Chaitali is hosting a fun blog hop challenge.  On 9/29 at 6:00 am Chaitali will post on her blog.  You can link up with InLinkz until 11:59 pm for a chance to win some great prizes!!! I hope you join us!

Happy Fusion Day

Happy Fusion Day!  Today is going to be wonderfully colorful and filled with sunflowers.  Yum, yum, love those flowers.  When I see them I think of friends and friendship and they just make me happy.

With that, check out this amazing inspiration photo:

Prety kickin' right?!

So here is what I made for this week's challenge.  I used my sunflowers from Lawn Fawn Our Friendship Grows.  Because I didn't have a bee, I used the little lightning bug from Summertime Charm and colored stripes to make it look like I wanted.  The jar is a pre-made sticker with twine.  I embossed my circle and backdrop with an Anna Griffin Cuttlebug embssing folder that my DT friend Kimberly gave me (Thanks K!).

The result makes me pretty happy, even the blue circle is on the mark with the inspiration photo and wasn't even planned.  Bonus!

So, please come and check out all the other DT creations and the Fusion blog so you can play!

Girlfriends Challenge

Some of my crafty friends, Amy, Kimberly and Tonya, have been challenging eachother to do various color, sketch and other challenges out there.  It was my turn and I chose this challenge even though it isn't current.  I just loved the colors!  Aren't they fab?!

Basic Grey
Pool Party
Crisp Cantaloupe
Lucky Limeade

So here is what I made for what I am dubbing the Girlfriend Challenge. A super sweet baby card AND I hardly had to do any of the work, I left it up to this fab DP by Bo Bunny!  I didn't have the Limeade color, so I used Pistachio instead.  Still love it.  The stamps are from Sweet Stamp Shop, so fun!  Finally the flower is from Freckled Fawn.  I filled it in with some glossy accents and used a MME enamel dot in the middle.

You can expect to see a lot of this paper line in the coming weeks, I bought a few sheets and have been using it like crazy!!!!  I can't get enough.

So hope you enjoyed!   I know I enjoy crafting with my girlfriends and working on challenges with them...thanks ladies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Inspiration is everywhere

Recently at work, one of my coworkers work the most beautiful scarf.  the light colored scarf with bits of pastel and bright pink was so eye catching and looked lovely on her.  I decided then and there that I would model a card after it...so I did. :)

Here is the card I made.  I took a plain base color and distressed with some brown around the edges. I used my Lawn Fawn Interlocking Backdrops to create my chevron look colored with markers. Though there was no gold on the scarf, I thought adding some was a nice accent color to go with the pink and so I made two tassles, one gold and one white with a bit of pink and anchored them with a bright pink button.  The sentiment is from Avery Elle.

I just sent this to a friend for her birthday and I hope she liked it!

Top Dog Dies Tuesday!

Hiya! Were you able to check out my pumpkin card tutorial earlier this week over at Top Dog Dies? I hope so because that was a fun and easy card that is sure to make someone smile.

Today though, I have a little something different to share with you...  Who wants to have some fun with some felt and home decor?!  Let's go!

This creation was soooooo simple.  First I folded some orange felt into my embroidery hoop.  Once in, I went around and cut the excess off.  Then I took some black felt and cut out three bats from the Top Dog Dies Halloween Trio Die Set.  I thought they would be cute with little googly eyes, so I added them on.  (One tip on gluing felt to felt, you have to use certain glues to make this stick, I used a fabric glue but I am sure there are others out there that work.)  While that bit was drying I took out some woodchips from my most recent Freckled Fawn kit (the letters) and stars from Studio Calico.  I colored them green with a Copic and glued them to my ring.  After everything was set and dry I pulled out some various ribbons that had the Halloween colors I wanted and simply tied them around the screw that holds the hoop together.  Finally, I added a little twine hanger so I could hang it on my wall.

This project was so fun to make and I will happily display it come Halloween.  Get a little felt and this set of dies and the options are limitless!

Campout

Hi Friends!  Happy Sunday to you!  I hope your have hadd a wonderful weekend.  What fun things did you do this weekend?

I was able to have some crafty time with my friends Amy, Kimberly, Tonya and a few other new fiends. It was super fun!  I love craft gathering with friends, they are the best.  Kimberly Challenged Amy and Tanya to the Colour Me Challenge using this popping color pallete.  I of course haven't had a lot of time to be crafty but decided to jump on the band wagon this time.  Thanks girls for letting me crash this party. :)

Here is what I made using these colors and this super fun new to me Set from Sweet Stamp Shop Campout.  I love this set and with these colors it is so fun.  I used and MME journal card for this and colored my camper using my SU! markers,  I love the way it turned out, the bright colors make me happy.

I am also entering this into the lovely Virginia Lu's Virginia's View Challenge #7 featuring patterned paper.  I love Virginia's style and her challenges are so fun.

That is all for me today, thanks for stopping by.

Fill in your own sentiment

Happy Friday!!!!

I am here to share a quick post today for a card I made for the Runway Inspired Challenge.  Whew, I haven't made much for a challenge in a while.  I'll be honest, I don't love this card but it feels good to participate! Yay!

Here is the inspiration:

and I made two VERY different cards for this challenge.  Card #1 is bold, bright and off he charts CA-RAZY!

I made this using embossing paste with a fun stencil.  I let it dry over night.  After it dried I used my Gelatos to add color to the top of the embossing paste.  I loved the look but it wasn't quite catchy enough for me, so I added some Stickles on top in certain places.  Once everything was dry, I cut it down to the size I wanted and adhered to my base (with some white behind).  I cut the "Be" from Simon Says Stamp die in white.  I like the idea of just having that as the sentiment and inside you can finish it off with whatever you want.

Card #2 is CAS and has mostly washi on it with just a little paper and a few gems.

I am also linking these cards up to Simon Says Stamp-tember Blog Hop Challenge

What do you think?  Which one do you like better?

Shiny Pink

OK, raise your hand if you are old enough to have seen the movie Pretty in Pink?!  If you aren't old enough, don't bother to comment! LOL. :)  Just kidding!  I did love that movie growing up though, I always love a good underdog story and Molly Ringwald....super star! haha.

Now that we've gotten the *important* stuff out of the way (wink) what say we look at this week's Fusion Challenge?!  You'll never guess what the theme is this week...drum-roll....SHINY PINK!  Here is the fabulous inspiration.

You know the drill, you can play with the image, the sketch or BOTH to create a true FUSION!  Super Fun right?!  Here is what I made for this challenge.

I definitely used some pink but I centered more around the sketch.  I used some SU! paper, Teresa Collins DP. Lawn fawn Plus One Stamps, Shiny Glitter Tape, MME enamel dots and Little B congrats die.  The colors and sparkle are so bold aren't they.  Admittedly, it was hard for me to not focus the card around the image (what I usually do) and have so much open space.  Not sure I entirely pulled it off, but if Molly Ringwald isn't gonna let them get her down then neither am I! :)

Head over to Fusion to check out the other ladies creations and enter to play for some awesome bragging rights! :)

Treat's are a coming!

Fall is in the air.  It seemed to sneak in over night leaving crisp mornings, colored leaves and LOTS of acorns. Fall is a favorite time of year for many folks.  I do love it, but admittedly, I love the summer and spring sun more.  The sunshine does my body good. :)  Luckily, summer isn't exactly over yet either, the weekend temperatures are going to be about 80.  I'd say the sun but cooler nights and lovely colors are the best of both worlds.

In my house we are already anticipating one of the fall holidays.  Can you guess which one?  I'll give you a hint, it is one the young kids like.  Halloween!  I have fond memories of dressing up as a kiddo but now it is my daughter's turn.  This year, she plans to be Ariel.

Since I have some great new dies from Top Dog Dies, I thought I'd get to creating some treats early. Why not right?  Here are a few of the recent creations I've made.

The first creation is a little pillow box with treats inside.  This features the new Top Dog Dies Modern Mosaic A2 Mat Die in black.  Not traditionally a Halloween die but I cut it down to wrap around my pillow box and the black looks great against the light orange.

The second creation is a test tube filled with candy.  Nerds to be precise, my daughter LOVES them.  I made this pretty easy but just cutting the kitty out from the Top Dog Dies Halloween Trio Die Set.  I love this fun set!  I added a few googly eyes and tied it right on as a tag using twine.  My daughter snatched it right up today even thought it isn't Halloween.  I guess I'll need to keep them out of reach from now on! LOL.

I was wondering, are you getting ready for fall holidays?  What crafts to you make this time of year?

For Teacher- SOUS Die Cut Challenge

Happy Friday!  So excited to have the weekend here.  We are all worn out in my house from the first week back at school!

Speaking of being back to school, this week's Stuck on U Sketches Die Cutting Challenge is....

Class is in!

anything school or class related…school, college, pre-k, cooking class, dance class, etc…

So I decided to make a card for my daughter's first grade teacher.  My daughter wrote a sweet little note inside and gave it to her teacher on the first day. :)

The card features the hello die from PTI.  I stamped teacher using a Hero Arts alphabet set.  Finally, the sweet felt apple is from Pebbles Inc.  I love the bright green paper that picks up the brightness of the apple's leaf, so very fun!

I hope you will come and play with us for this week's challenge, we always love seeing your amazing entries.  Be sure to head on over to SOUS to check out he other fabulous DT creations and the prizes.

Enjoy your weekend!
