A Quickie!

Just wanted to share a quickie with you today.  We had a baby shower at work yesterday for my lovely co-worker Michele.  My girlfriend Ana had this idea to make cupcakes out of birpcloths, so fun!  I made the decor around the cupcake and together we assembled them.  Aren't they cute?!  I used the umbrella stamp from the Lawn Fawn Plus One set.  I am also proud to say that my co-workers raised about $400 to donate for Michele and family to have a meal service or whatever they need when baby comes! :)  Yay!

PS- there is a fun blog hop over at Paper Smooches today, check it!

Happy Weekend!

Doing a fly by

Hellooooo....don't have a lot of time today but wanted to do a quick fly by to show you this card.  This one is for this weeks Lawnscaping Challenge- create your own patterned paper with Lawn Fawn Stamps.

I have to say, it was hard to decide what stamps to use on my patterned paper, but ultimately I decided on the swirls and heart from the Cruising Through Life set, they just seemed right.  The plane and clouds are from the Bon Voyage set.  I decided the plane needed to be pulling a message but the messages I kept wanting were too long, so I just went with a simple thank you and the flag (again from Cruising through Life).  They seemed to be perfect for a sky flying message pulled by fun twine.

So that's all for this fly by.  Until next time....

Feeling like a Space Cadet

Well the work week is finally over and I am feeling like a huge space cadet!  Or maybe, that is just want I want to be.  Honestly this week, this month, this year have been so busy and just gone by at warp speed.  I don't like things to drag, but I hope after this big project at work ends that things slow down just a little bit.

But hey, it looks like I am not the only one feeling that way.  Check out this little alien in the UFO from the Paper Smooches Space Cadet stamp set.  He is pretty darn cute.  I thought this would be one more fun card for the sketch challenge they have going on at the Paper Smooches Sparks Blog.  I flipped it around to make it work how I wanted it. :)  I finished up with some crystal effects on the lens of the telescope and the UFO.

Well I hope your weekend turns out the way you want, whether busy or not.  My parting thoughts come from Spock, "Live long and prosper!"  :)

Have a Blissful Birthday!

I just wanted to share one more card with you.  I made this one a few weeks back for my Uncle Bob for his birthday.  The candles are just paper, but the flames are the fire from the rocket ship in the Paper Smooches Space Cadet stamp set.  I am pretty happy with the way this card turned out.  I hope my Uncle liked it.  :)

When I was little I had no sense of humor, I was very sensative and serious and and when either my dad or Uncle teased me I always got my feelings hurt.  As an adult I still have a sensative side, but I also have a good sense of humor (at least I think I am funny- wink).  I attribute that to these two men the most, my Uncle and Dad.  Uncle Bob, you are a special guy!  Hope you had a blissful birthday!

Thanks for stopping!

Spiderwoman

Hello!  I just wanted to quickly share a card I made for the Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge this week, which is a sketch.  Here is what I was looking at...

...here is what I made...

What do you think?  I used the new Spookalicious Stamp set that I won on a blog hop (set below)!  The pumpkin is the body (minus the stem) and the angry mouth makes all the legs.  You can't really be scared though, because this spidey lady has a cute little bow on her that says she is sweet. :)

Thanks for stopping and have a great day!

Summertime!

What is it about summertime that just makes you want to have cold sweet things like ice cream, otter pops and lemonade?  Well whatever it is, I like it, because I love all of those things.  What cools you down on a nice hot summer day?
Well in the spirit of summer and the Lawnscaping One Layer Challenge, I've decided to use my newest set Make Lemonade.  This card was so easy and fun to make being only one layer.  Actually, I messed up on my coloring a few times, the yellow was getting black streaks from the black in.  Then it dawned on me to use my Staz On ink...dur!  What can I say, it is hot in my place and I wasn't drinking anything cool at the time.  I am now though...can you guess what it is?!  Lemonade you say...NO!  Margaritas!  :)  This set would be perfect for stamping that too.

Stay cool!

Just Because

I have one more to show you today just because. I won this stamp set, Spookalicious, from the Paper Smooches blog hop about two weeks ago.  It was fun to break the set in. :)

Fly Me to the Moon!

Attempting another card for this weeks Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge, which ends today.  I had so much fun with this card!
For  the longest time I didn't know what to do with this 6X6 bit of dp that you see in the background, but today, it jumped out at me as a perfect backdrop for the night sky.  It makes the perfect stellar bodies to me.  Along with this other dp strip accross the front which also has a cosmic feel.  I used the stars from Paper Smooches stamp set Space Cadet.  I was gonna use one of the little alien's too, but I decided the card was better without. The moon was made using a circle punch, outlined in black to match the stars and coulds and so it would stand out a little more against the background, and then paper crimped.
The whole time I was making this card I was singing Frank Sinatra's version of Fly Me to the Moon in my head. :)  Then of course I couldn't get it out, so I had to break out the CD and listen to it.   Despite not feeling good today (or yesterday) this has been an OK Sunday for me.

Remembering Mr. Pitatti

Check out this picture.  Do you think it is trendy?  !ell it is the current picture for the Paper Smooches SPARKS blog paper challenge.

Obviously this is a map, and the caption is August Travelicious. I think there are a ton of ways to interpret this challenge: World Map and globes, traveling to like tropical paradise, road trip, maybe travel to outter space and so many more.  How would you interpret it?

I was thinking it made a great classroom map, which inspired me to make a thank you card for a teacher.  I used PS's super fun Smarty Pants set.  I just love this crazy guy, he makes me think of a nutty professor or maybe even Einstein.  Check him out in his nerdy teacher outfit with the paper peiced checked shirt and tropical tie- ha!  Reminds me of my chemistry teacher, Mr. Pitatti.  Yep, that was his name....  I curled the map up and to make it look old and then used the push pin stamp to pin the message in the corner.

Anyway, had fun making this card and hope you enjoy it too.  Can't wait to find my long lost chem teacher and give it to him! :)

Me and my baby

A week or so ago I was looking at my Paper Crafts mag and was inpired by all the shaped cards the featured.  I thought, how fun are those!  So I decided to make one using my cricut.  Every time I bust that machine out my baby wants to make stuff with me, she loves it!  so she and I chose to make a mailbox from the Create A Critter cartridge.  We made it large size with a black back drop.  We popped it up using dimensionals and cut the remainder of the flap out so that we could actually open the box.  At that point, we decided this card was for Daddy and we had to put little notes inside.  We both made an I love you note, Sophie stamped her own. :)  Once we had all that my little girl wanted to embelish with flowers.  Wallah!  A card for Daddy. We had so much fun making this and Daddy just loved it.  We love you daddy!

I am looking forward to making more shaped cards with my baby in the future. :)

Thanks, for stopping!
